Why is there such an aversion to admitting that someone needs a 32C bra?

I've bought a few, they fit, but are hard to find. People always want to try to remeasure and say it isn't so and try to get you to buy what's on hand, or just tell you there's a "sister size". Why is this so unbelievable to some people?
