Does this count as cheating?

Im 18 now and when I get in relationships the question of past relationships often comes up. I don't consider what I did cheating because of the circumstances but I would like y'all opinions. Ok so I was a freshman in high school and I had a boyfriend that was a junior at another high school. We had never seen each other and met through a friend over the phone. I had a class with this other boy I liked and we kissed a few times after class while I was 'dating" the other dude. Does that count as cheating because technically me and my "boyfriend" just claimed each other but we never had an actually relationship.
