What is the Evolutionary Explanation for Man's Aversion to Unpleasant Sounds (eg Nails on a Chalkboard)?

I understand why sounds like a baby crying or someone screaming would be unpleasant, as the drive to end these sounds would be linked with the survival of one's social group. However why is something as seeming innocuous as nails on a chalkboard be so unbearable to most people?
