How not to be awkward?

I'm a dude going to 10th grade and I want to be able to talk more and not be awkward. Throughout my school years I've been the cool guy, the quiet guy, the nerd, the relaxed guy, the cute guy, and sometimes the awkward guy. I'm fine with everything but I don't talk much, and when I do, it may come out weird. Sometimes funny but sometimes, weird or awkwardly. I just want a cute gf. In the past all of the girls I liked liked me back, but im too shy to ask them out. So i only had 2 gf's in my life time, because they asked me. But I want to be able to ask them from now on. I also want to be more social, so any ideas, advice, or past experiences would be great. :))
