Does the Schick-Shadel aversion therapy work in the treatment of alcoholism?

I am sure it does work for many people. For some people they do medical detoxification. I think that is what they do during the 10 day program for the horribly chronic alcoholic to get them to stop drinking. They are probably the ones they put on antabuse so they vomit if they ingest any alcohol. The reason for the success is likely the added medical treatment for the people who don't have success with normal 12 step programs.
