Cutting a cake design?

I would cut the entire cake in the outline shape of the entire insignia. I would then ice the entire cake the dark green...then using a large rose tip (maybe #124) I would make the chevrons and rockers, using gold icing. After you have them done in the gold I would take a # 3 tip and make lines to cover each of them so it looks like embroidery threads...instead of just the flat gold you would get from the 124 tip.
