Can a guy and girl just be BESTFRIENDS?

okay so i have this guy friend he is STRAIGHT and i am straight as well. so we txt eacother like 24\7 and we video chat NON STOP ALL NIGHT. also EVERY DAY at school he hugs me , we sit next to eachother at lunch all the time ( with a group of friends ) and people at school keep on saying we should go out. so i want this answer from a dude. alright know you have read everything so can ME and MY GUY FRIEND be more then BESTFRIENDS from his point of view?
